What a week it has been. Competing in Roswell for the 2025 inaugural National Championship Air Races here has been nothing short of extraordinary. We started the week by becoming the FIRST JET RACER to win a jet race heat at Roswell, making history by also being the First Woman to do so!

Somehow, my L-29 “Miss Independance” will be starting from the Pole Position in the first jet heat, and I’m still pinching myself! Honestly, I’m not sure how I pulled that off!

I will be the only female flying the pylon racing at Roswell. I may be the only one this year but I won’t be the last!

As the days tick down, the reality of Roswell becomes sharper. The aircraft are being prepared, training is in full swing, and the excitement is undeniable.

Air racing is not just a sport—it’s a form of extreme aviation, and yes, the risk is real. Pilots have lost their lives, and those conversations about “what happens if” are part of the unspoken reality of racing.

Every time I put on my helmet and strap into the jet, I carry a little piece of Aus with me. From the regional airspace at Bathurst NSW, to the international racecourse, this journey has been about more than just flying, it’s about representing where I come from and who I am.

Motorsport takes many forms, Formula 1, MotoGP, NASCAR, one of our favorites, the Bathurst1000, but air racing sits in a league of its own. Why? Because we race at speeds up to 525 miles per hour, just 50 feet off the ground, with up to 6 aircraft on the track trying to get past each other in a race.
