As I reflect on International Women’s day and the movement associated with it, I wonder why this day was initially implemented and what it was set out to accomplish long term.

I kept coming back to the need to create conversations around positive change for women and under represented groups and how recognition of the challenges faced is needed to start the conversation of how we progress forward.

One day in the year seems insignificant to be honest, the change needed doesn't always come from big movements or sweeping policies, it starts with our individual actions.

Each of us has the power to influence progress in our workplaces, communities, and industries. Small, consistent efforts add up over time, creating lasting impact.

Every person has the ability to make a difference. Its not about waiting for permission or relying on others to take the lead it Is about making intentional choices that drive change. A conversation, a challenge to outdated thinking, or a commitment to fairness and respect can set off a chain reaction.

Leading by Example, real change starts with personal accountability. If we want to see a better world, we must embody the values that create it. By acting with integrity, respect, and a willingness to support others, we set the standard for those around us. Progress isn't about working alone it’s about lifting others as we climb.

Creating environments where people feel valued and heard leads to innovation, motivation, and lasting growth. When individuals step up and take ownership of solutions rather than waiting for change to be handed down, momentum builds faster, and progress becomes sustainable.

Success isn't just about titles, promotions, or big milestones. True success is measured by the positive influence we have on those around us. By recognizing and celebrating progress, not just the final result we encourage ongoing effort and inspire more people to take action.

Real change happens when we work together. A culture that encourages support, shared knowledge, and collective progress will always move further than one driven by individual competition. By focusing on common goals and shared growth, we can accelerate action in a meaningful way.

Each action, no matter how small, contributes to a greater movement. Change doesnt have to be overwhelming, it just needs to start. When we each take responsibility for doing what we can, when we can, we create a future built on progress, one step at a time.

What small action will you take today?
